Time for a very overdue post from me! In time-honoured tradition of the care group, we held our annual picnic at the Botanical Gardens on Sat, 23rd July. You know how they say it never rains on National Day? Well, it always rains on picnic day no matter when we have it! To reminisce previous picnic outings:
- 2003 – This year was memorable as Poppy somehow captured and nearly ate a lizard, Changky lost in Scrabble, and it rained.
- 2004 – I remember this one because of the nice gazebo we had our picnic in, the oversupply of muffins and sandwiches, and it rained.
Anyway, back to 2005, we decided this time to walk a little further into the park and arrived at a stage in the middle of a lake! What a nice and dry place to plonk down. Surprisingly (and thankfully), despite the downpour, very few people thought of moving their picnic mats to the stage, thus giving us lots of room and peace. Some chose to remain under trees whereas some people ran to shelter elsewhere. I don’t know about you, but I think it’s never a good idea to be under a tree during a storm!

Yes, I remember you lost at scrabble but I can’t remember to who though. Heck, I was playing chess with Poppy and I can’t remember who won either. Haha… too insignificant.
