When I first heard this word from Zhiyi many moons ago, I went, “Huh? Aren’t they too young to be lifting weights?”

Nonetheless, after countless trips to shop for baby stuff, I’ve learnt that a baby gym is a small play area for babies consisting of a mat and one or two arches with small toys suspended from it. Newer baby gyms are really quite high-tech, with spinning balls, mirrors, push-buttons and music playing features. With batteries, these contraptions can swing the dangling small toys back and forth for that ultimate hypnotic effect. All these visual and audio stimuli can apparently boost the baby’s intelligence!

Imagine our surprise on Sunday when some folks in the care group chipped in to get Ashley a baby gym from Robinsons. Thank you for the gift Tigerming, Princess, Guppy, Amleth, Merv, Wee Leong and Yixi! And, also thanks to Tigerming for doing a special home delivery so Ashley could play with it right away. I hope I didn’t leave anyone out! If yes, please let me know!
