It was a fun-filled IslandHope party to celebrate New Year’s Eve and say good-bye to 2007 in the company of close friends. As usual, there was lots of food to go around (pancakes, ice cream, chips – all staple food of the modern generation), followed by watching a powerful drama depicting the triumph of the human spirit that really puts one in a reflective mood (Balls of Fury), then partying on the Wii (how come that Mario is in every game I have!?) and finally watching fireworks from the top floor of the next block (the grass is always greener…).
When I look back at 2007, I feel really blessed and happy to have become such good friends with all the IslandHopies. This is what doing life is all about!

Happy New Year everyone and welcome to 2008! May God shower his blessings upon you this year and bring you joy and fruitfulness in all areas of your life – health, family, job, relationships, ministry, etc.
P.S. Anyone who can guess the manga that inspired the latest IslandHope Diaries “comic” gets a free lunch/dinner from me!

Elmo was a gift from INK’s mum to Ashley and ever since that fateful day, they have been inseparable. Both have big eyes, both wear diapers and both spend most of the time lying down, how could they not have taken a liking to one another?

Two Sundays ago, Edna and Vincent decided to pay baby Ashley a visit. They brought their parents too, of course, so that the parents can entertain each other without eavesdropping on their conversations.
Speaking of conversations, what do babies talk about when together? Hmmm…

Remembering their age is pretty easy. Enda was born first (1st Oct 05), followed almost 2 months later by Vincent (22nd Nov 05), then exactly 2 months later by Ashley (22nd Jan 06). So when Ashley is 3 months old, Vincent is 5 months and Edna is 7 months old (something like that). Haha, anyway, I guess it wouldn’t matter much once they all pass 1 year old.
Edna keeping a vigilant eye on handsome boy Vincent.

I like this next group photograph. It reminds me of something I once heard about cool boyband album covers where all the boys are staring away from the camera to give it a contemplative effect.

Was taking the elevator at my workplace today when this message flashed across the floor number screen display.
This elevator will shut off.

Imagine the thought of being in an elevator 36 floors up with no lights and no ventilation for a few hours when nobody outside can hear your cries! Haha… anyway, thank God we got out before the elevator did what it had to do.

As the EPL season draws to a dramatic close with 4 to 5 matches remaining for most teams, all eyes are on who will emerge champions and runners-up. Alas, the team I support, Liverpool, is pretty far behind in 3rd place (although this is a dramatic improvement compared to last season!).
Over the weekend, as I was keeping abreast of scores on Soccernet, I noticed a link to the gamecast between Man Utd and Arsenal. Now, I’m a fan of neither club but I found the short form used for Arsenal pretty funny (see Arse). Heh heh…
No offence to true supporters of the club whose short name I shall not repeat here! All in good fun!

Went shopping for lightbulbs today at IMM and noticed something amusing on one of the boxes I bought.
The guy probably wasn’t working in a very well illuminated room to have made so many typos. Please use the “supper powerfull & bood for eyeside” lights next time!

Ashley: Eyes open big-big wondering what all the fuss is about!

Was chatting to my bro Tiger today and I suddenly realized we both had pics of cute kittens. Alas, my kitten was a victim of a 10-34 shooting.
