Father’s Day Lunch at Si Chuan Dou Hua

18 Jun

Firstly, let me admit that I didn’t realize Father’s Day now applied to me too! Gone are the days when I used to take “special days” for granted such as the above-mentioned day, Mother’s Day, Children’s Day, Teacher’s Day and so forth. I’ve got no problem remembering Pay Day though for some odd reason.

Anyway, in commemoration of this special day and also wifey’s dad’s birthday, our family had lunch at this chinese restaurant called Si Chuan Dou Hua, located on the 60th Floor of UOB Plaza 1. It was my first time eating here and overall, I give the place a huge thumbs up for ambience, decor and food. Just to add, I have no idea what the final bill was so can’t comment on the price. :P

Spectacular view from the 60th floor. I wonder if babies feel any fear of heights.

The Sunday lunchtime crowd was virtually non-existent except for a few families and couples spread out around the restaurant.

Presenting, some of the more photo-worthy dishes. Note: I didn’t want to scare my in-laws by obsessively taking photos of every dish!

Chili, all the better to spice up your food with!

8 Treasures Tea – A concoction comprising red dates, wolfberries, dried longans, chrysanthemum, rock sugar, dried lily buds, jasmine tea leaves and a herb called “mai dong”.

Our shark’s fin soup replacement. Can’t remember what it is called but it tasted really good!

Cod fish in soya sauce. Heavenly…

Stir-fried prawns with dried chilli and cashew nuts. The killer dish thanks to its spicy taste.

Finally, nothing like good creamy chocolate cake to wash down the food!
