Handicrafts

Beautiful soap art from Thailand courtesy of Tiger. It’s amazing how craftsmen there can shape all the minute petals and intricate colours from a piece of soap.

Speaking of handicrafts, here is a really special one from Wombat (what’s with all the animal nicks! – PandaINK). If you are reading this, thanks so much for the wonderful gift to IslandHope. I’m still thinking of where to hang it. Hehe… And don’t we all miss her smile and great piano playing during CG!

SooOo Prettyyyyy! Soap Art & seeing Kaidy’s ‘thank you’ gift once more!!
Wow… great photography taking (making the flower soap look so nice that I regret giving them to you… haha.. just kidding).
And great handy work from Kai!!
Yeah, the soap art is so nice I wonder if I’ll ever use it! =P
Hi there – I stumbled across your site while seeking photos of ‘soap art’. I am knocked out! I’m also very pleased by the witness you give to faith as well. If Tiger can e-mail me about where, specifically, the soaps can be found, name of the company or any info,it would be most appreciated. And congratulations, Ink&family on your new addition. You are truly blessed. Thank you.
Hi there Suzie!
Thanks for visiting my blog and your lovely comments!
About the soap art, indeed I was pretty knocked out too when when I first saw them. To think that all I used to do when young was carve letters and alphabets onto bars of soap for arts class. =)
Anyway, I’m not sure if anybody sells or distributes them but you can find them in abundance at tourist spots in Thailand. They lay rows and rows of them out on tables and there’s an endless variety for you to choose from, all for a mere 100-150 baht apiece (that’s about USD2.5 to USD4). Here’s a photo to show you what I mean (scroll right to the end): http://www.pagesofink.com/index.php/archive/holiday-in-phuket/
All the best in your search and hope to keep in touch with a fellow sis-in-Christ (do you have a website or blog?)! =D
