23 May 2008 – Today we left the Big Island and made our way by plane to the city of Honolulu on Oahu Island. Honolulu is the state capital of Hawaii and is famous for its surf and beaches. It also happens to be a very popoular destination for Japanese tourists.
After 4 days of driving and sightseeing, it was a nice change of pace to spend the day eating and shopping at the Waikele Factory Outlet (or Chelsea Premium Outlets, can’t remember which name it was).
In the evening, we walked down the road from our hotel, the Sandville, for dinner at King’s Village. The restaurant we chose was called Tanaka of Tokyo and apart from eating one of the best teppanyaki ever, we were also entertained by the chef’s skill in tossing and juggling food as it was being cooked.
