July Babies
17 Jul
One year has passed since we celebrated Tiger’s and Jerilee’s birthdays at Fish and Co. Ah, how time flies! It seemed like just yesterday that we were all still bonding as a care group and trying to get to know one another better.
And with the passing of one year, not only have these two lovely Islanders grown in maturity and character, but we get to see one new face at the party. Guess who?

While queueing for our table (hey, it isn’t easy finding a table that can accomodate 18 people and 1 baby!)…
Ashley and Tiger re-enacting a famous movie scene.

This is HALF the birthday crowd.

As always, Pris was our dependable sabo-IC. I can always picture her working for those corny Japanese or Taiwanese variety shows asking participants to do all sorts of ridiculous stunts. Something I learnt from her that day was that the best way to put “stuff” into a cake is to squirt it in using a syringe. That way you don’t mess up the icing and the cake remains pretty much intact. Brilliant!
The REAL ringleader. Yumm… why does the cake taste so good?

Make a wish! But the sabo won’t go away. Heh heh…

Unfortunately, after one year of constant birthday sabo-ing, I think the CG folks have started to grow a bit immune. I can still remember Tiger commenting that his slice of cake tasted too sweet when it was actually laced with chilli!!! Indeed, the Lord is merciful, but only on Tiger and not Jerilee this time around. She still found it quite a hot experience. Haha…
The next photo with Reina holding a wad of cash is here solely for the purpose of helping me remember that I paid!
Show me the money!

Another big coincidence is that Kaidy also happened to be visiting from Australia and just like last year, her return coincided exactly with Tiger’s and Jerilee’s birthday. If we had gone to Fish N Co. again, that would really have been deja vu.
Kaidy & Friends

After the lunch, it was back to S11 for a time of affirmation (somehow we just can’t get enough of that place, not!). In CG tradition, this is the time that we take to say nice things about the birthday boy/girl that has impressed us most during the past year. For Tiger, he has really matured a lot and grown in ministry and his relationships with people, and for Jerilee, it’s a joy to see her bonding more with the CG each and every week. I think we will really miss her when she returns to Manila in September.
Now, can someone tell me what those chinese characters say again?

MC was gracious enough to start when Sarah popped by.

have u thought of writing comic strips for a part time job? :p
Hendrik: I guess not as much as Ashley who thinks of becoming an actress! Haha…
any cows involved in this one? moo?
Merv: Umm… I remember someone ordering BEEF briskit noodles.
wah…. i tot u were working on the continuation since 2 weeks ago and all i see is one tiny little update!! grrr…
Editor!!! Ink is way past his dateline!!! haha…
Tiger: Fwah! Din realize you would even see this small update. Haha… Yeah, the editor (wifey) was kind enough to “enforce” my short absence from blogging (aka she was hogging the computer lately). Wah, so much backlog. Hahahaa…
ya lor, only small update ….
audience dissapointed hahaha….. :p
tio hoot!!!
Protest!!! protest!! on strike!!!
Sigh… I check this blog once every few days, hoping to see more updates too. By the way, I took some photos of Ashley during District Sports Day. She was mesmerized by my pink Razr V3 =) May I have your permission to post her pic on my blog? Thanx
Hendrik & Tiger: Wah ok ok! I have finally updated this very belated post. Haha…
Fangs: Yes ma’am! Somehow I get the feeling that Ashley will grow up liking pink. However, if it’s a fancy for high-tech gadgets that she is exhibiting, then I think I’m in trouble. Haha… Yes, do post on your blog so I can go and see!
one of the photos of ashley seems to bear a resemblance to INK!
oops. that was me btw.
Windy: Wah! Which one which one?
Yay! Updated! Wahahha…There goes my reputation… now nobody will think that I’m a shy, humble and low profiled girl anymore..*SiGh..*hahahahaha…
I never knew you pictured me as hosts of those quirky & corny Japanese/Taiwanese shows! Lol..But sorry… nope.. no interest in Taiwanese shows…Japanese yeah, sure! Hahaha…(Somehow what SooGuan & Joel said to me about getting my ‘tribulations’ on my wedding day is ringing in my ears…)
Pris: Since when as anybody thought of you as a shy, humble and low profiled girl???
After reading your comments, another *evil* thought came to my mind, maybe your wedding dinner sabo will be in a corny game show format. But, this time you will be on the receiving end. Hahaha…
wah…
Thank you Inky.. I actually have a little feature as kaidy and friends… such an honour to be on ur post..
Showed some Sydney-hopers here ur little Ark and friends stuff… Yes.. truly consider a side-line. =)
God bless
Kaidy: I guess I’ll do a few more during my brief period of unemployment. Haha… just kidding! I’m glad I have such a cute model (hope she doesn’t strangle me when she grows up).
Just read ur comments, Ink. Alright, I know no one has thought of me as a shy, humble and low profiled girl… I got that wrong. It’s a shy, humble and low profiled lady.
… you’re like the 6th/7th person who wants to ensure I’ll be on the receiving end on my wedding…I think I’ll have to change my wedding venue to the Alps or somewhere ulu.
Pris: Ha!!! In the Alps?? Then only Santa Claus can attend. Hahaha…
You can run but you can’t hide…
