This week would go down as one of the most memorable because of the public holidays on Tuesday and Wednesday, effectively giving us THREE Fridays this week. Yes, three. 三, ๓, 삼… three. Monday was like a Friday, Tuesday was like a Friday, and Friday was… well… Friday. I could do it all over again but it’s not often that all the planets align themselves, i.e. wait long long.
Anyway, this was one of those weeks we didn’t have Care Group because IslandHope attended a worship concert at Nexus on Thursday where a Praise & Worship band from Adelaide performed. Their rendition of One Way is still stuck in my head!
On Friday, Guppy, Nutz, Ariel (aka Wifey) and I had Bible study where we did a character study on Samson, the Nazarite set apart by God to serve Him but fell from grace due to his pride and disobedience. However, despite all these, God never abandoned Samson and when he cried out one last time for God to deliver him from his enemies, God heard his prayer. In the end Samson killed more Philistines (sworn enemies of the Israelites) through his death than in all his life combined.
After Bible study, devoid of anything to do, Gab, Nutz and I went crazy and sung and played the organ and piano until 2am. How wifey managed to sleep through the ruckus is beyond me. Anyway, jamming cooked up a huge appetite in the three of us and we promptly took a cab down to this famous beancurd place in Geylang (I’ve been there many times but can’t remember the name each time!) for supper. We had a great time chatting and sharing war stories until 4am when finally we came to the realization that we were no longer as young as we once were and headed home to sleep. Ah Friday, I will miss you… till we meet again next week.
Check out the size of those yu tiaos! You really have to see it in person in order to appreciate how much oil drips/oozes out of those things!
Epilogue: Gab proved he is really the oldest among us by needing the most zzz-time, waking up only at 4pm the next day. Nutz and I fared better by waking up for lunch. *oink*
